Option 1
01It’s time to get in shape. You decide you’ll get fit over the next 12 months &, you may do it, or you may not, you’ve got no goals or targets so, how do you know if you’ve got to where you want to be. 12 months on and nothing’s changed, you’ve actually gained a bit of weight but don’t tell anybody -
Option 2
02It’s time to get in shape. You choose to train at the gym for the next 12 months because you want to lose a bit of weight & improve your fitness. All seems good at first but, now winter’s here the motivation is slipping, perhaps you’ll start again after Christmas as no-one trains over the Christmas period. Sooner or later, you realise you’re paying for gym membership & yet you haven’t trained for several months. -
Option 3
03It’s time to get in shape. You hire a personal trainer (PT) & agree that you’ll work together to reduce your weight by 10 kgs, body fat down to 15% & run the local half marathon in 11 months’ time – clearly defined project. The trainer you’ve chosen has years of experience in weight reduction & fitness as well as being an accomplished distance runner so understands exactly what’s required. You agree a meal plan & training schedule, but as you’re busy with work your PT has agreed that they’ll complete all the meal preparation for you & deliver it twice a week to stop you slipping on the diet front. When you’re in the training sessions you’re being pushed harder than you’d train on your own. The benefits are easily lasting to the next session. When you don’t feel like going to a session, the financial commitment & thought of letting someone down drives you on. Also, having to simply open the fridge & pull out your next meal stops you from straying away from your diet & giving in to cravings. Having someone along side you that has already experienced the journey you are on, knows the pitfalls & guides you around them has made the goals you’ve set achievable. It’s still been hard at times but having that someone next to you, holding you to account on the areas only you can achieve whilst taking on the parts you don’t have time for has meant you have stayed on track.
